Description
A burgundy glass goblet in the mid-century modern style, produced in the 1970s in poland by huta szkła sudety in szczytna śląska, designed by stefan sadowski. The cup is handmade of sodium glass, dark red-burgundy in color. It is in good condition, with minor damage to the edge. Dimensions: Height 13.5 cm|diameter 10.5 cm|base diameter 7 cm|inlet diameter 6 cm. Historical view: Stefan sadowski is one of the few glass artists who have not been influenced by the decorative values of this noble material. Countless objects, realized with consistency and artistic persistence, make up multi-threaded and thematically diverse cycles. Creating them over the course of almost half a century, sadowski uses a variety of styles: from an almost minimalist approach to disheveled expressiveness, often enhanced by an almost romantic perception of reality. At the same time, he consciously, sensitively and with technical virtuosity uses the natural qualities of the material, such as its natural aesthetics, expression and even the symbolism of the material. Stefan sadowski materializes his own various inspirations, ideas and creative reflections in an artistically convincing way. His glass objects and sculptures are not elegant, decorative or artistic gadgets, but, just like a good painting, a wise book, a film or a moving piece of music, they fulfill the role of a transmitter of ideas and thoughts.
