Vintage bottle holder - Carl Auböck design - solid brass and woven wicker

Bottle holder designed by austrian designer carl auböck in the 1950s and manufactured in the family workshops in vienna. A student of johannes itten at the bauhaus in the 1920s, carl auböck is one of the major figures of austrian design. He adopted a modern and refined vocabulary to design a series of nearly 500 objects made with simple and noble materials: brass, wicker, wood, leather. Object in good condition, some traces on the brass at the curvature (see photo), wicker in good condition. For a 75cl bottle of wine.
