Poet Laval light blue slip pitcher

Charming pitcher with a pretty, very trendy color, pastel but tangy, between baby blue and sea green. The rendering on the majority of photos does not accurately reflect the color. In reality, it is a slightly paler, more pastel blue with a hint of green (the color closest to reality is found in the last photo, the one on a black background (and the cut out one) but here again it is missing a tiny touch of green. It also has a very beautiful shape, well promoted, simple but embellished with relief elements which give it character: a drape on the body and a twist which surrounds the collar. The whole is really harmonious and will add pep and softness to your decor at the same time, as a decorative piece in its own right or to receive a pretty bouquet of dried flowers. This pitcher is stamped underneath pl france bandeau 1l, so it is a 1 liter pitcher, "bandeau" model which comes from the coursanges factory in poët laval in drome where renowned ceramists including jacques pouchain worked. We still sometimes find this model of pitcher but in this marvelous color, it is extremely rare, this is the first time i've seen one. I haven't managed to date it, but for me the draping and the twist evoke the art deco period, so I would say from the 30s to the 50s. It is in rather good condition, no big chips, no repairs, but does not hide some signs of its age: a crack of 1.5 cm from the edge of the opening but which remains well joined, chips around the edge of the opening and under the pouring spout, cracked enameling on the bottom at the interior and some other small discreet marks on the body (small dots). Personally, given the cracked enamel inside, to ensure it has many more years of life, I will reserve it for decorative use without water. It measures 17.5 cm in height, and approximately 13 cm in diameter and 18 cm in width from the handle to the spout.
