Description
Crystal candle holder of the house art valves in perfect condition, no shine. History of the cristallerie de vannes le châtel: The countess of mazirot of reims created the glassworks in 1765, eager to enhance the exploitation of wood that belonged to her. She separated from it in 1788, in favor of nicolas griveau. The company did not really take off until it was taken over by jean-baptiste schmid. Son of michel and catherine raspiller, he left the alsatian glassworks of the hang to create with his brother-in-law jacques bonhomme, that of clairfontaine in the vosges in the forest of darney, from where his nephew melchior left to lease in 1798 that of vannes-le-châtel (meurthe-et-moselle). From 1823 to 1987, the glassworks was owned by the schmid and bourbonneux families, exclusive property of the family until 1970 when the merger with the glassworks of vallérysthal and portieux, and those of bayel and fains.
