Rattan wicker cradle on wooden wheels

This beautiful wicker cradle, original because rectangular, equipped with pretty little wooden wheels and a handle to move it, intrigues me ... Who is it for?  A baby, in this case it is not very big, so it would be for the very first weeks, or is it a child's toy to make dolls sleep  In which case, it is rather large and solid. In any case, it can easily find other uses later! Indeed, its rectangular shape makes it boilerplate, not just connoted "baby's room". It will also make a nice and practical storage for soft toys, toys in a larger child's room, or for laundry waiting to iron. And why not an original storage for bath sheets and towels in a bathroom, or for bags, coats and all those things that always hang around in an entrance. I dusted it and then washed it carefully with a brush. It must date from the 50s or 60s, and is in good condition for its age: still very solid, the strands are all present it seems to me, just a broken strand, I put a glue point to hold it in place (see the last two photos). We observe dripping varnish, often original on wicker objects of this period, but perhaps it was revarnished during its life. Its interior trim and a small mattress will be attached to the package if you wish, the foam of the mattress is in good condition, the cover, disjointed on one side, the trim has tears. I machined them, but there are still stains. This can serve as a pattern to make a new trim. It measures 60 cm in height, the base forms a rectangle of about 60 cm by 30 cm, the cradle part measures 65 cm (72 cm with the handle) by 39 cm at the level of the upper perimeter, and 57 cm by 29 cm at the bottom. It weighs just over 2.5 kg.
