Old bench in raw oak

The bench was first installed in the gardens as a way of approaching the original, the paradise, the wonderful one that can only be contemplated through the imagination infused by religious texts. It symbolizes intermission; during a playful or more busy walk, it is the object that allows relaxation. The bench when it is public becomes a social microsphere, often of seduction, since in the past and in present times, beings are courted on this space that imposes proximity, even more romantically when it is in a beautiful garden. Wherever it is installed, the bench becomes a symbol of cultural exchange, making it possible to discuss, share, tolerance, respite. In the assemblies, the political people sit on the benches, at the school, the little ones laid their seant on benches, in the holy places, it is on benches that the faithful sit their faith... Large families of the working classes preferred the bench to the chairs, which allowed more subjects to be installed around the same table. Bistros, balls, all places of conviviality where distance is anecdotal adopt the bench as the offer of rest and link the simplest and most obvious. A bench is good and it can be very beautiful. It has stimulated inventiveness for centuries judging by the incredible number of models! This one is oak, raw, nicely greyed by time. The assemblages are traditionally made by studs, mortaises and pegs. The back is punctuated by balusters that give the ensemble a poetic aesthetic. It is very decorative both indoors and in a garden.
