Opaline recessed ceiling light 1970 Ekilux Vintage glass lamp with pattern

This is a stunning mid-century white opaline glass light fixture, dating from the 1970s/80s. The outer edge of the lampshade is decorated with a circular pattern in matte frosted glass in dark gold color. These fixtures were often used in bathrooms, on the ceiling, but could also be used on the wall, and can be used outdoors, in a sheltered area, such as a porch. The galvanized metal backplate attaches to the ceiling or wall and contains a bayonet bulb holder. The opaline glass shade slides over the back plate and the elastic curves hold it in place with the twist of the lever. The backplate also bears the manufacturer's name: ekilux this is the provençal lighting company owned by sébastien sauze, son of the famous lighting designer max sauze. The ideal gift for anyone who loves 20th century style and a fantastic piece of decor. Ideal for any room, it could be the perfect prop for a 1970s/80s film, tv show or theater production. In excellent vintage condition, with no cracks or chips to the glass. The only point of note is some paint on the back plate, which is not visible when assembled. As you can see, it is currently in working order, but you will need a professional electrician or a confident diyer to repair it to the desired location, it will be up to them to make it work. The wiring is old and it may be advisable to redo it. If you have any concerns about safety, you should also have the device tested by a professional after installing it.
