Vintage planisphere frame reproduction 17th century

Magnificent frame in wood and red and gold plaster from the 1960s, reproducing a planisphere from 1652 on varnished parchment (hence the very shiny side of the photos). In addition to the representation of the earth as it was known at the time, the painting is completed with illustrations of the inhabitants of different parts of the world. All the texts that appear there are of course in latin, the language of scholars. The whole is in excellent condition considering its age and the rare gaps in plaster accentuate its old side.
