Old armchair to renovate

Old armchair in its original condition, completely in need of renovation. I'm not sure of the type of wood, but I think it's walnut. We love the look given by the armrests! The junction between the armrests and the backrest needs to be reviewed (see photos) and it will be necessary, at least, to reupholster it, because the black leather is very damaged.
