Boucherouite red Berber carpet

Boucherouite rugs are another form of berber rugs, but they are distinguished from beni ouarain rugs by their manufacturing techniques and aesthetics. Unlike beni ouarain rugs which are woven from natural wool, boucherouite rugs are made from recycled materials, such as pieces of fabric, used clothing and colored cotton threads. Boucherouite rugs take their name from the berber word “boucherwit”, which means “pieces of fabric” or “rag weaving”.
