Pair of Gabriel Fourmaintraux plates

Pair of gabriel fourmaintraux plates beautiful old slip plates, signed on the back gf for gabriel fourmaintraux (1886-1984), french ceramist from the north of france - desvres. He worked for a time in biot in the south of france with fernand léger/roland brice. This collaboration led him to create pieces with more original and colorful shapes than those he produced for the manufacture de desvres. A blue background plate, a black background, pattern of herbs or seaweed, beautiful shiny colors, small comma or quotation mark effect on the edge, typical of this ceramist diameter 20 cm to serve as a dessert plate or as decoration on a wall from the 1960s.
