Superb toiletry kit consisting of a jug and a basin in Badonviller earthenware, Berne model, signed Théophile Fenal. It was produced between 1900-1920 as evidenced by the factory stamp. The off-white earthenware is enhanced with yellow and black patterns. These patterns were made with a stencil and airbrush, which gives them a non-homogeneous and diffuse appearance with the most beautiful effect. The handle features delicate geometric patterns in relief. With its simple shape and its graphic and geometric decorations, this toiletry kit is typical of the art deco style. This style was born at the beginning of the 20th century and reached its peak between the wars, which corresponds well to the period of production of this kit. In the past, before the advent of the bathroom, this set intended for washing and shaving was present in bedrooms or, for the more modest, only in the kitchen. Today, these fairly large pieces will wonderfully decorate your interior as is or by serving as a vase in all the rooms of your home. condition (see photos): Good condition. note: two cracks on the top of the pitcher but which do not affect the seal (photos 5 and 6). Small stains from use on the inside of the pitcher (photo 7) and the basin (photo 8). Small spots of use in the flaking of the icing photo 6). small chips on the edge of the basin (photos 9 and 10). Small standard manufacturing defects in the earthenware and glaze.
