Rare color engraving, representing the portrait of the thoroughbred diomed in 1780, after a painting by the famous animal painter, georges stubb (1724–1806). The engraving is signed lower left in the plate g stubb and an explanation of the first prize list and the life of thoroughbred diomed in the center. At the top right is written published by miss, forés, piccadilly w. Published in london, from 1783. Diomed famous thoroughbred horse, born in 1777, in england, he won the first edition of the epson derby in 1780 in the united states -united and his career was subsequently very flourishing in the united states, wooden frame, solid, very elegant glazed.
