Description
Old earthenware serving dish from Saint-Amand and Hamage (north) (1896-1952), "modern style" service. Stylized floral and plant decoration, bluish green on a creamy white background. Stamp marks "[crest, crown, anonymous st] saint amand and hamage (north)" and (intaglio) "iron land" and "4". Good structural and aesthetic condition, with some traces of use and time: a small haloed chip (< 3 mm) in the decoration, two chips (< 5 mm) and traces of friction on the edge and two small chips (< 3 mm) on the reverse (all detailed in the photos). Bright enamel, no cracks, beautiful color. Beautiful object, due to the quality of its workmanship, the solidity of the material and the beauty of its decoration, oscillating between floral, plant and underwater world (chondrus and gigartina algae, and lucernae?) in the spirit of art new / judged style / modern style. Diam. 30 cm.
