Beautiful pair of fish aquarium in chinese porcelain, with fine enamel decorations cloisonné of animated scenes of characters, flowers, trendy birds, butterflies on a white background outside and decorated with five fish among aquatic plants inside. Period: early twentieth century. Dimensions: height: 42cm X width: 46, 5cm. Do you know how long ornamental aquariums have existed. According to sources, the beginnings of ornamental aquariums, involving the selection of species, date back to 905 ad. J.c. Or in the twelfth century. Similarly, the date of creation of the "bowl" or fish aquarium is subject to several dates. For some, it would be in 1369 with the launch of a porcelain factory that produces large containers to accommodate goldfish by the chinese emperor hongwu. According to other sources, the chinese "vase" or aquarium was invented by the ming dynasty in 1547.  A first goldfish breeding treaty dates from 1596.
