Pierre.d'Avesn Cups

Two molded glass bowls signed pierre d'avesn, france 1930s. D'avesn (1901-1990) real name pierre girre. Pierre d'avesn was a student of françois decorchement at the school of decorative arts. He joined lalique where he remained for 10 years. He worked at daum between 1930 and 1936 where he developed the production of molded pressed glass in the production department signed by lorrain nancy. He joined the verlys company in 1937 in the hollophane glass department at the andelys glassworks. After 1945 we found him at the cristallerie de choisy le roi where he reissued old models and created new ones. He remained there until his retirement in 1984. Considered the elite of the last glassmakers of the art deco era, he died in paris at the age of 90 diameter 13cm height 4cm.
