Set of 2 vintage flat plates in parma pink bubble blown glass - bread dessert 14.5cm

This lovely set of two small plates is made of parma pink bubble-blown glass. These are small dessert or bread plates - 14cm. They are mouth-blown using an artisanal technique and are therefore irregular. Bubbled glass captures light differently and has a soft, delicate texture. The old pink color is delicate, tending towards purple. Perhaps from biot or from an artisanal glassworks: bubbled glass has existed in biot in france since 1956; the glassmakers succeed in controlling the bubble, trapping it between two layers of glass, thus turning a defect into a quality. It is an ancestral technique, known to southern glassmakers since antiquity. In good condition, these plates measure approximately 14 and 14.5 cm in diameter. They are not signed and have discreet defects which add to their charm (burst bubbles, elongated bubbles, traces of the cane). They have slightly different dimensions and varied colors, because they are mouth-blown.
