In 1977, Philippe Starck designed the John Ild model, the first bookcase of his career. It was subsequently published by Disform in 1982. Its name is taken from a character in a Ubik science fiction novel whose references by the designer are recurrent in his work. The structure has two black metal tube uprights simply placed against a wall. Five black lacquered wooden shelves are supported by these. There is no marking on this part K0444
