Romanian antique rug, handwoven in wool, black background with deers and pink roses

Antique authentic romanian rug, very rare, made on latest 19th century or beginning of the 20th crntury. Large size, handmade in wool black background with beautiful roses and two deers. It is a very rare find, very old but in a good shape considering the age, with few marks on the margin especially wich gives it even more charm and beauty. This rug is found in buzau area, romania. It was used to decorate the wall, it still has the metallic hooks on. It is a trully treasure, very old and beautiful, for those who love and appreciate the antiques. In romania, years ago, every mom handmade for her daughters beautiful carpets and rugs as dot for their weddings. I grown up with this: every winter, at my grandmother' s house, women from the village, neighbors and relatives, spend the evenings and those long winter nights together, working on beautiful wool rugs or other handmade items. Nowadays the art of handcrafting rugs is almost extinguished. Now, we are trying to discover and put into the modern design context these beauties. This is our story.
