Description
This pretty pot is unusual to say the least: it is strangely small. And it mixes different styles: we recognize art deco in its forms (rounds and triangles), but also perhaps art nouveau or at least a more classic style with the pretty fine floral decorations printed on it. The golden features that adorn the pot seem to me to be hand-painted. It could be a pot to preserve the tea (dry before brewing). It is enamelled earthenware, the enamel is cracked (original I think). It is of czech origin according to the stamp below which mentions "cxechoslovakia" and "240" under a crown, one can also discern the number 4311 in hollow in the earthenware. This pot is in good general condition, neither crack nor shine, but it shows signs of its age: the underside of the base is worn with small spots, as well for the underside of the lid (not visible when closed therefore) and a stain in the hollow of one of its handles. It measures 16 cm in height with the lid. Including the handles, it measures 20 cm wide and 6 cm thick. It weighs 314 g.
