Anders anton jönsson, born 9 july 1907 in hyby, malmöhus county, died 21 november 2002 in malmö, was a swedish painter and graphic artist. He was the son of the farm worker jöns persson and anna trygg and from 1942 married to signe rydberg. Jönsson came after finishing his schooling in painting and worked as a professional painter for about 10 years before he studied art at the skånska målarskolan in malmö in 1934. He then undertook a number of study trips to france and spain. He debuted in the artist group blandningen's exhibition in malmö in 1938 and exhibited together with 20 other scanian painters in new york in 1939. He participated in collective exhibitions with the skåne art association, sweden's general art association, helsingborg art association and landskrona art association. Separately, he exhibited at the sds hall, malmö town hall, malmö museum and krognoshuset in lund, as well as in various places together with his wife. His art consists of floral still lifes, figure motifs, portraits, landscapes and seascapes in oil, pastel, watercolor or lithography in a naturalistic style. Jönsson is represented at malmö museum, malmö municipality, landskrona municipality and älvsborg and malmöhus county councils. He is buried in the memorial grove at sankt pauli middle cemetery in malmö.
