Solid elm dining set including 6 stools France 1970s

Very comfortable dining table with six stools. The stools and table follow the same shapes creating a coherent and robust whole. The table is made of solid elm and the top is quite thick as well as the square legs slightly protruding just like the stools. The table is not very wide but long enough to ensure that there is enough space to eat or drink while maintaining an intimate setting. If you look closely at the top, you can see rounded traces of use where people's arms landed on the table. This table must have had a lot of visitors over the decades and because the wood is quite soft, it has had this incredible wear. It also offers great comfort so that you can rest under your arms on the table. This set is perfect for anyone looking for an easily accessible place to drink coffee or have a quick breakfast as the stools don't have backrests or armrests, so it's easy to get in and out. You can also place the stools under the table to create space if they are not in use. As you might expect from this minimal brutalist set, it's very heavy, but two strong men can do the job if you want to move this object. We added this piece to our collection because we thought it looked a lot like Pierre Chapo's style but without the crazy prices.
