Le bambole two-seater sofa designed by mario bellini between 1970 and 1972 for the italian design manufacturer b&b italia. The design started with a shopping bag full of stuffing that was placed on the floor and thus took on a different shape. In a shared research between the designer and the r&d department of b&b italia, the design changed into the shape of a cushion. This 2-seater is also called the "bibambola". The prototypes were filled with the precursor to memory foam, after which a metal frame was integrated to give the sofa extra sturdiness. The metal frame was later replaced by foam only padding. This 2-seater still has the original metal frame, which means it is an early version. This le bamboo sofa is reupholstered with vintage cognac leather.
