Hand signed color litograph by the outstanding swedish painter, graphic artist and sculptor sven "x-et" erixson (1899 – 1970) handwritten " e-xt " and numbered by artist at the left corner. In the original cover. Sven "x-et" leonard erixson (november 23, 1899 – may 17, 1970) was a swedish painter and sculptor. He began studying with a painting master at the age of 14. He continued his artistic education by studying decorative painting, while taking up a position as a drawing teacher at konstfack. This was followed by a year of study at the royal swedish academy of arts, to which he later returned as professor of painting from 1943–53. Erixson has an extensive and diverse artistic production. He painted landscapes with figures, often with southern motifs, images of cities and ports, interiors, and floral motifs. He drew inspiration from various sources, from medieval folk art to german expressionism. In his artistic life, he devoted much of his time to traveling. Both drew on different themes, mainly from spain and the south of france, but during their travels he was always eager to study both the old masters and the greatest contemporary artists of their time. Goya and velazquez in the museo del prado; el greco in toledo; paul klee, lovis corinth, gustav klimt and egon schiele in the bavarian national museum. Erixson is one of sweden's most outstanding contemporary painters, and his works can be found in most swedish art museums.
