After francesco borés (1898 madrid – 1972 paris) -- “untitled (the harpist)” -- 1961 -- lithograph -- -- bsp; × 215 mm|11 3/8 × 8 3/8 in -- bsp; × 320 mm|15 5/8 × 12 1/2 in (framed size) ---- printed by mourlot in verve. -- framed -- please note: visualisations of works hung in interiors are simulated and may not accurately represent either how the work is framed or its precise scale. If a work is not described above as framed, then please assume that it is offered unframed (although suitable framing can always be arranged). ---- borés was an important figure of twentieth-century european art among the second wave of spanish artists who arrived in paris in the 1920s, which also included pablo picasso, ginés parra, pedro flores and antoní clavé, although in his own country he was not really recognized until well into the 1970s when aspects of his work that did not fit in with the dominant informalism and social realism were finally valued. His style was forged following his close contact with the greatest painters of the first vanguard: picasso and matisse. He admired their manner of constructing forms, classicism, and later the cubist explosion. Borés harmonizes these influences in his work, and goes beyond them. His artworks are showcased at the museo de arte contemporáneo in madrid. ---- if you wish to purchase more than one work, shipping costs can be reduced ---- shipping will be arranged by the most economical/appropriate courier service for the safe delivery of the piece ---- this piece is located in the uk.
