Description
Superb oil painting on canvas from the mid-20th century, circa 1950, signed lower right r.legrand. It represents a still life with pears and a ceramic pitcher. Raymond legrand (1929-1999) was a painter born in arras, student at the douai school of art then at the fine arts in paris in the studio of eugène narbonne, a year after his illustrious predecessor bernard buffet. We can compare him to the group of "rebellious" painters of the post-war period, who refused the dictate of abstraction. The "modern art" style of this french painter is magnificent, we could spend hours looking at the mixture and the liveliness of the colors on the pears, the tablecloth and the plate of this still life. This canvas will be perfect in a contemporary kitchen or in a country house, accompanied by a frame or left as is! Good general condition, note: some paint losses and cracks. It is an old painting, it may contain traces of time and imperfections which make it a unique piece with a story! Please look at the photos in detail, they are part of the product description! Dimensions: 73 cm long / 60 cm wide. Weight: 1.165 kg.
