This small 19th century engraving represents talleyrand, it has a pretty golden baguette frame. Talleyrand, whose real name was charles-maurice de talleyrand-périgord, was born in 1754. Coming from a family of the high french nobility, he was stripped of his birthright because of his clubfoot. Unable to hold military positions, he turned to the ecclesiastical world and entered the saint-sulpice seminary at the age of fifteen. Talleyrand was appointed member of the constitution committee of the national assembly in july 1789. Please note, the engraving is pitted and stained in places, this remains acceptable. The frame is damaged as you can see in the photos. Our photos allow you to appreciate the quality of the object. For the condition, please detail the photos. Feel free to zoom in. The photos are an integral part of the description. Dimensions: height: 29.5 cm width: 25 cm thickness: 1.7 cm e: l6002.
