This Gulvvase (Danish for floor vase) has been moulded with 2 layers of glass, opaline white on the inside and green on the outside. In English this technique is called “cased” or “casing” (in German “überfang”). This vase is in excellent condition, no damages, no cracks, no chips, no fleabites, only hardly visible traces of wear and age. Traditionally these Gulvvases were not signed at the production but only got a paper label which is still present on this vase. Please note there is a closed airbubble in the vase, dating back from production (last photo). The original design is by Otto Brauer in 1962 for Holmegaard / Kastrup Glasværk, in Odense, Denmark. The bottle is pictured on page 107 of the book Dansk Glas 1925-1985. The original design was for bottles in one colour e.g. clear, blue, green, amber. Some years later the bottle was redesigned in colour by Per Lutken who introduced the same bottle in various colours, but always two "cased" or “überfang” colours in one gulvvase.
