Wooden box

From the art nouveau period, relatively large, this box with key in finely carved wood from the black forest in good condition. No cracks or chips. Rectangular in shape with a relief plant motif around the edge. Fully carved lid surmounted by birds, of the small wader type, in the nest. The whole rests on 4 feet with a palmette pattern. The functional lock with its clasp and the hinges are made of brass. The interior is padded with a midnight blue fabric in good condition. Rather exceptional to find this type of box in such good condition. Dimensions 272 mm X 212 mm X height 214 mm. Weight 1060 g. Careful and tracked shipping.
