Set of 6 Fly Line Spaghetti chairs from the 1970s. The chairs are in good condition, note some impacts and marks on the tubular white steel structures. The nylon rope is in good condition, note two traces of scratches on the side of the seat on two chairs. Three wedges are missing under the legs which were originally four in number. The Flyline label is no longer present on the back of the chairs (stickers). These "spaghetti strap" style chairs have a post-modern style metal frame. The tubular PVC seats and backs are semi-translucent in color. The painted metal frames are white in color. They are ideal for outdoor or indoor use. The six chairs are stackable. The designer, Giandomenico Belotti (1922-2004), graduated in architecture from the University of Venice. He began working in research, restoration, urban planning and industrial design. Since 1979 he had been working with Alias on the planning of the spaghetti chair. Even today, this design is considered one of the most contemporary expressions of modern design. The spaghetti strap chair is part of the permanent collection of MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) in New York and the outdoor green collection.
