Walker & Hall antique silver plated graduation meat domes food covers table cloches, set of 3, 1880

Presented here is a set of 3 premium quality antique Victorian silver plate meat domes/food lids from the renowned English manufacturer Walker & Hall. They were initially produced together as part of a three-degree package. They are all stamped inside the cover with the same Walker & Hall markings: a rhomboid shape divided into 4 areas with a crown for the town of Sheffield and 3 gothic letters: M, T & R. The company flag symbol is on it. With the initials "w&h". Given that henry hall joined the company in 1853 and the crown could no longer be used after 1896, this may suggest that these domes were made between 1853 and 1896. All three domes have a wall hanging bracket, they could therefore constitute an excellent decorative element on the wall. For this decorative reason, we decided to retain the antique patina. The oval-shaped surface is simple, without engravings, with a decorative foliate border around the edge. The quality casting is crisp and detailed. This decorative pattern is repeated under the oval part of the removable handles. The handle also features a graduated foliage pattern. They can be removed by unscrewing a nut inside the dome. They are sold together and the price shown here is for the set of 3 domes. The 3 domes are in good condition for their age. They are sound with no significant dents or cracks, only minor spot impressions and marks, and surface scratches and rubbing to the metal consistent with age and wear. The silver finish is uniform throughout the pieces, with the original Dark Age patina in places which has been preserved and left unpolished for added authenticity adding character. Additional dimensions: the large dome is: height (to top handle): 20.5 cm, width: 36 cm, depth: 28 cm, height (inside): 14 cm. The average dome is: height (to top handle): 17.5 cm, width: 31.5 cm, depth: 24.5 cm, height (inside): 13 cm. The small dome measures: height (to top handle): 16 cm, width: 27 cm, depth: 20 cm, height (inside): 11 cm.
