Suite of 15 modular candle holders and planter, nagel germany

Suite of 15 modular tripod candle holders in chromed metal model s22 and a pvc planter. Candle holders are stackable and can be assembled in different ways. This set was produced in germany by the company nagel in the 1970s. It comes with 17 white, yellow and green candles. In 1965, hans nagel and his architect friend werner stoff developed a candlestick assembly system, their research leading to the nagel s22 candle holder, the very first model of modular tripod candle holder, with a very futuristic design, which would inspire others later (bmf, quist...). The candle holders fit together infinitely to create custom compositions. Nagel produced other models in the early 1980s, which did not have the same commercial success as the s22 model and are therefore very rare.
