Vintage sideboard in light wood, black glass, and black metal. Black metal legs. Arp minvielle edition. 1960s. Dimensions l 146 X d 46 X h 70 cm. Vintage arp sideboard, minvielle edition, opening with 2 black glass sliding doors on the right and a light wooden door on the left. 1950s. Dimensions l 146 X d 46 X h 70 cm. The arp collective (atelier de recherche plastique) brought together from 1954 to 1957 the designers pierre guariche, joseph-andré motte and michel mortier, who had met in the agency of designer marcel gascoin. Together they create quality furniture in a typically modernist style, using simple and geometric lines, often offering furniture - bookcases in particular - made up of several modules. They created a lot of storage furniture for the publisher charles minvielle as well as seats for the publisher steiner and lighting produced by disderot. Their objective: to simplify furniture, to create new forms that break with classicism, while maintaining a high level of quality and noble materials.
