Old porcelain apothecary pot: rob de sur

Superb vintage medicine jar in white porcelain, featuring a “rob de sur” label on the front and “phoenix dactylifera” on the back. "rob de sur" is probably an abbreviation of "rob de sureau", a syrup extracted from elderberries. It is often used in pharmacopoeia for its expectorant and antiviral properties. “phoenix dactylifera” is the latin name for the date palm, a plant known for its fruits, dates, often used in traditional medicine for their nutritional and medicinal properties. This apothecary bottle has kept traces of its experience but has its place in a cabinet of curiosities, and will add a deliciously retro touch to your interior. H 31 cm bc 2023-430.
