Large convertible bench from the 1950s, 1960s, metal structure, armrests and central cross member in light beech. The metal structure, robust, was lightly sanded and covered with a special iron paint of gray color. The parts in light wood, with cut sides, characteristic of this time, in the scandinavian spirit, bring all its lightness to the whole, an airy and structured side. They have been cleaned, repatinated and bear traces of use well photographed (some taken very closely!) for a purchase with confidence! The wheels on the rear legs allow manipulation for a passage from the bench to the bed in an instant! It opens by slightly raising the part of the backrest to the left and right to release it from its side notches and tilts downwards to come to rest on the two feet hidden in the structure of the backrest and thus offer a bed of 120x190cm. This authentic bench is equipped with its mattress and its original fabric (just top!). The two real period upholstery mattresses, with springs, are in good condition and give a very comfortable seat. The fabric is worn, stained, patched (see photos), but so typical that we deliberately left it. We have on one of the photos deposited a navy blue fabric to show you the rendering with a plain fabric, more current, if your wish is to change it: in beige, gray, black..., why not in duck blue! (by adding a zipper system that would allow easier cleaning). The mattresses are 60cm deep, 190cm long and 14cm thick, a knotting system allows to fix that of the backrest to the metal structure. The size of this bench in a sitting position is 208cm wide (measurement taken at the armrests), 85cm high, 85cm deep in total. The depth of the metal part of the seat alone is 61cm. Total weight: about 60kg.
