Original Large AJ Royal suspension set in white by Arne Jacobsen for Louis Poulsen, 1980s. Designed in 1960 by Arne Jacobsen for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, the AJ Royal is an icon that follows Jacobsen's overall concept of geometric shape. The shape of the spherical dome is simple but complex. The circular ringed louvers on top provide a glow while maintaining a clean dome shape. Arne Jacobsen was born and raised in Copenhagen. In 1927, he graduated as an architect from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. After graduating, he got his first job in the office of the Copenhagen municipal architect by launching his own office just two years later. Height : 23 Diameter: 50 Condition: very good
