They worked as a husband and wife team in the "brassware" of metal items in their craft shop in Paris, France. A delightful and exquisite candle holder, uniquely illustrated, with a beautiful polished patina, in the form of a corolla of leaves glued on top of each other. In chiseling technique and repoussé in tin "brassware" French art nouveau made by the famous Parisian sculptors Alice Chanal (1872-1951) and Eugène Louis Chanal (1872-1925). The corolla is formed by several raised leaves to place a candle. Stylized floral motifs in relief typical of the signature art nouveau engraved above: ae chanal. This beautiful art nouveau see art deco candle holder has an elegant symmetry of shape, a slightly flared rim and is covered with a repetitive pattern giving the bottom of the candle holder relief and life - a delicate and natural pattern that complements the industrial aesthetic of the object. This sheet features the fluid lines and shape typical of the Art Nouveau era with curved edges, a handle in the form of a scroll rod and engraved decoration on the upper surfaces. The coin is stamped ae chanal / france on the upper side. In good condition - has white dots between leaves ( ) with some dark spots overall.
