Beautiful illustration mode vintage "Pierre BALMAIN", signed Erick, presenting the creativity and inventiveness of the famous fashion house. Time: early 1980s. Colours: black and white. Biography: Born in 1914, Pierre Balmain is a french designer who was destined to work in architecture, according to the wishes of his mother, he opted finally for the fashion world. He began by working for designers of the era, like Molyneux. But the second world war, and Pierre Balmain was forced to give up his job. Back in his region in 1940, he was offered the artistic direction of the collections Lelong, a position which he accepted with enthusiasm. It then creates his house of couture in 1945, that he naturally called "Pierre Balmain", and has for assistant a certain Karl Lagerfeld. His creations, elegant, modern and chic, sublimating women, seduce the public but also stars like Brigitte Bardot, and crowned heads. Pierre Balmain's popularity is skyrocketing, the creator then surrounds himself closely with 600 employees. He designed work uniforms and costumes for the 1968 Olympic Games.
