Description
Frame called barbizon in pink gold color decorated with acanthus leaves and vegetable frieze on the border, mounted with keys, nineteenth century period. Taking the name of the colony of landscape painters established on the edge of the forest of fontainebleau between 1825 and 1875 approximately to paint in the open air, drawing their inspiration from a realistic nature (corot, daubigny, millet, rousseau), the so-called "barbizon" frames present a wide profile in gilded wood. The depth is given by superimposed levels in cascade, whose moldings are adorned with friezes loaded with oak leaves or acanthus leaves, often embellished with knots, in the syncretic taste of the napoleon III style. The gilding is bright, highlighting the dark greens that barbizon painters loved. This frame has some traces of wear with shortcomings, but it is of solid structure, it has been repainted in pink gold color that gives it a beautiful appearance while light, it will highlight your photos or paintings. Weight 3, 360kg. Height 59 cm. Width 50 cm. Interior height 39 cm. Inner width 30 cm. Thickness 5.5 cm.
