W&O lamp by Sacha Ketoff for Aluminor 1980

The W & O lamp was designed in 1985 by Sacha Ketoff for Aluminor competition lights I think of you at the Centre Pompidou (winner of the competition!) The W & O name pays tribute to the brothers Wright, Wilbur (1867-1912) and Orville (1871-1948), pioneers of aviation. The W & O lamp is composed of a metal arm covered with anthracite varnish which is based on a weighted in black painted metal base. It ends with a plate of Makrolon acting as a Lampshade. This material little used in furniture, the honeycomb appearance, assumes the role of reflector and deflector, acting on the quality of the light and the direction of the lighting. A Smart Strip metal system orientation at the angle of the lamp.
