Description
A classic of British design, the 1227 Anglepoise lamp, designed by George Carwardine in 1932. Used in major British institutions such as the BBC & Ministry of Defence. The lamp during World War II was made with a battery pack for use in Bombardier aircraft. According to the Anglepoise site, it was therefore well done that when a Vickers Wellington bomber crashed was recovered from the Loch Ness in Scotland in 1985, the lamp was still operating after receiving a new battery - despite being submerged for nearly four decades. This Version of Anglepoise 1227 was made between 1935 & 1968 by Herbert Terry & fils. In very good old condition showing signs of real life use. Completely reorganized & tested, ready to go. Height (fully stretched) 87cm wide Base 15cm x 15cm
