Biography: Born in 1914, Pierre Balmain is a French designer who intended to work in architecture, according to his mother's wishes, he finally opted for the world of fashion. He then began working for great couturiers of the time, like Molyneux. but the Second World War broke out, and he was forced to give up his job. Returning to his region in 1940, he was offered the artistic direction of the Lelong collections, a position he enthusiastically accepted. He then created his fashion house in 1945, which he naturally named "Pierre Balmain", and had a certain Karl Lagerfeld as his assistant. her elegant, modern and chic creations, sublimating women, seduce the public but also stars such as Brigitte Bardot, and crowned heads. His popularity rating set to skyrocket, with nearly 600 employees around him. He designed work uniforms and costumes for the 1968 Olympics. He died in 1982 after a long illness.
