Watercolour painting Pierre Comba (1859-1934) Landscape of Sardinia Italy Nice

Painting made in watercolor dating from the very beginning of the last century, signed (under the marie louise - see photo) P. Comba for Pierre Comba (I own two works signed by this artist with similar framing) and representing a lively village view with market and church, presumably Italian or Sardinia, see from around Nice. The period frame is offered with the work (with marie louise and back cardboard, I remove the glass, unfortunately too risky for the work during the expedition, the frame has some shortcomings). An official army painter, Pierre Comba has followed the alpine fighter units extensively in their missions and daily lives, both in peacetime and in times of war. Originally from Nice, he also represented extensively the landscapes, rivers and seaside of the Alpes-Maritimes. View size: 11.5 / 20 cm, with frame: 35 / 45 cm.
