Library shelf, marquetry and gilded bronzes Napoleon III

Desk top, middle shelf-library, napoleon III louis XV style. Beautiful curved shelf all sides, fully inlaid. This small bookcase was to be placed on a small table or desk hence its exact name of "table library". Luxurious model, curved all sides, embellished with superb gilded bronzes. These bronzes have been dismantled, cleaned, they are marked "v r" (see last photo) and in their exceptional original gilding. This library consists of two crossbow tablets of decreasing depth, underlined by a gilded bronze net in astragalus. Beautiful friezing veneer on oak frame of various species of wood, mahogany, rosewood, violet wood and nets of light wood. Its inlaid top is surrounded by a gilded bronze mould that reinforces the curves of the whole. The whole of this small piece of furniture is in perfect condition, no lack of veneer, only a few small stains and traces in the varnish are to be noted. Defects in the varnish of the rosewood plated bottom panel, which does not appear to be original. Presence of four cut pegs (under the base) that attest to its initial presence on a small table or desk. Weight: 11kg. Dimensions: 56cm high, 64cm wide and 34cm deep. The depth of the top tray is 26cm, that of the top shelf is 18cm, below 21cm and at the base 30cm. The width inside is 57.5cm. It is 17cm high between each of the four spaces.
