Description
Picasso collection plate of the salins. The salin earthenware activity dates back to 1857. That year, two earthenware makers from nans-sous-saint-anne, granger and moniotte, bought the former capuchin convent and the surrounding land. The site benefits from the proximity of road and rail services and especially from the hydraulic force of the furious river. The factory was taken over by bourgeois, page and co. In 1862. It employed 120 workers in 1889 and exported part of its production to algeria and egypt. Research into new dough compositions brought the factory a silver medal at the 1889 paris world's fair. It ended in 1998.
