Beautiful example of the iconic cast iron wall clock made in England by gents of Leicester. c. 1930 Exact origin unknown, but almost certainly an industrial environment, this clock has a solid construction in cast iron, steel bezel and glass lens. The dial has Roman numerals with the Pul-SYN-ETIC electric mark. The original needles now work with a high-torque quartz movement for modern comfort. Gents '; was founded in Leicester, England, in 1872 by John Thomas Gent. For more than a century, the company has been a well-known manufacturer of electrical equipment, in particular its electric clocks, which were used in public buildings and railway stations around the world.
