Antique English campaign writing box

Spectacular english box, from the end of the 19th century, used as a campaign desk, with marquetry on the edges, the lid and the keyhole. It has two compartments, one on the lid and one on the base, both under the beautiful blue felt mat. This type of box was used either by clerks (remember that a large part of the population did not know how to write or read at the time), or as a travel desk, both for boats and a campaign desk. Looking at this box, you can imagine all that it will have lived through, how many businesses have been agreed on it and how many love letters have been written on its wood. We could write a novel just thinking about the life of this box (and, of course, we would write it using this box as a desk). It's in very good vintage condition, but it has no key and is missing a bit of wood veneer on the back and a little on the side. It weighs 2200 grams and measures 35 cm wide, 23 cm deep and 14 cm high.
