Description
We have just come back from Provence in the South of the France and looks amazing in the store. Probably dating from the period of the 1920/1930s this table really oozes culture French art deco Café, it's really an elegant piece. Photo by train to SIP a Pastis on a square of the city somewhere in France in the 1920s. Manufactured by the manufacturer of high quality Fischel, it is stamped on the base with "Model drop-off" which translates by "registered design". Fischel, a native of Austria, was the main competitor of Taylor at the end of the 19th century / start of the 20th century before moving to Alsace in France where he made coffee tables, these are today popular for their quality and their aesthetic . This example has a red bakelite top surrounded by a chrome stripe, the main shaft is also chrome became delightfully worn. All this is on a tripod steel weighted base which has still a part of the original red paint poking through for a great effect. Measure: 72.5 cm high X 50 cm in diameter.
