Set of four vintage coffee cups. These cups are advertising cups for the bovril brand. Bovril is a thick, salted beef extract developed in 1877 by the british john lawson johnston. Diluted in hot water, it can be consumed as a drink, or give taste to soups, stews and oatmeal, or as a spread on bread. It is the equivalent of viandox in spreadable version. Cups are marked: northstaffordshire pottery co limited, cobridge made in england. One of them has a small chip visible in the photos.
