Travel/marine writing

Travel or "marine" writing in solid mahogany with reinforcements at brass corners, circa1840. It is sheathed with green galuchat and offers a crystal inkwell (subject to its time) on the right and a dry feather on the left. In between, you will discover a plumier and a small stamp box. It does not have any "secret" and the writing part discovers on both sides two document storage traps. It is in a very beautiful state of preservation, is not varnished with a tampon but displays a very warm patina in filled wax. The lock is period and works but sometimes remains capricious! Open dimensions: depth 49 and height from 3.7 to 9.8 cm.
